THE SURF

Oaxaca is one of the last surf frontiers in Mainland Mexico.  Picking up the same powerful South swells as Puerto Escondido, the sand bottom point breaks around Huatulco rival any surf spot in Mexico for consistency.  Most of the spots are not surfed with any regularity since there are more waves than locals.  However, most locals do surf very well and have great knowledge of their breaks and the winds that effect them.

Typically from October-April, the Tehuantepec winds blow from the North or Northeast at about 25-30+ mph.  During May-September, the rainy season kicks in and the winds die down in both speed and consistency.  It's during these months that the points and beachbreaks are at their best.

Our guides will get you the best waves possible on any combination of tide, wind and swell angle.
