TUI TAI CHARTER
Tui Tai is the ultimate Fiji charter surfing experience and caters to everyone. North Fiji has waves for all abilities and Tui Tai has a vast range of other activities and services. Whether you are a wave-hungry surfer, a family with kids, honeymooners or even a non-surfer Tui Tai can offer you a trip of a lifetime.
So how about a typical day on charter?
Making our movements through the night, we wake up each morning close to the best surf. If you want to loosen up and center yourself before a surf, try a yoga class. Or how about diving the pristine reefs with our PADI Dive Instructor? Surf is key but there is plenty to do onboard to keep you busy all day.
A full breakfast is served with fruits, cereals, and you might want to order the day's speciality - whether its banana pancakes or a customized omelette.
Plenty of time before lunch for more surfing, another dive or a snorkel. We have two large RIBs for taking you out to the surf, and we'll take snacks and drinks to keep you fuelled up between waves.
Want to take it easy? Have our onboard spa specialist look after you, and perhaps she can work out any aches or pains from the surfing!
Lunch on the sun deck with our highly-skilled chef duo preparing some fresh fish.
As with the mornings, and the trip in general, the afternoon activities are very flexible. We can surf, dive, snorkel, fish, kayak, mountain bike, hike to waterfalls, or even relax. Maybe it's the time to test out one of our stand-up paddleboards?
As we traverse the cultural triangle we have other scheduled activities such as traditional kava ceremonies, village dances and various humanitarian projects.
Perhaps a 'lovo' ground oven dinner on the beach beneath the stars, with crew and guests singing by the bonfire.
Time to party back at the boat? - Plug into the iPod dock. Or maybe time to relax? - We do presentations on Fijian History & Culture, Marine Biology & Conservation, and we have an extensive DVD collection to get amped for the next day's surfing.

THE SURF
When's the best time to surf in Fiji?
Swells hit the region year round, but our favorite season is summer (November-April) when the trade winds will sometimes vanish completely. At this time we also receive swells from the north Pacific winter - and it is these which light up this remote surfing paradise.
Horseshoe Rights
A fun punchy righthander that works best in the light winds of summer (November-April). Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers. At low tide you'll see villagers as they wade over the reef to catch their dinner.
Luckys Lefts
Around the reef from Horseshoe rights is Luckys Left, which is a super consistent lefthander. It is exposed to all swells and always seems to be offshore. In big south swells it can be a gnarly thick slab for bodyboarders, but in north swells it tends to peel similar to a barreling pointbreak. Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Fat Albert
A mellow righthand reefbreak suitable for all levels of surfer (Beginner to Pro). This spot really gets going with the North swells in Fiji's summer (November-April).
Maqai Rights
Very high quality reef that starts with a fast racing wall, throws up barrels, and can offer long rides along the pass. Exposed to swells year round but shows its true potential in the summer (November-April). Suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Maqai Lefts
Almost a mirror of Maqai rights, although the different angle of the reef make it a better option if the winds come.
Polynesians
A fast walling left that works better with a bit of water on the reef. When optimal conditions align during a big swell then this place looks like a certain wave in Tahiti. Not for beginners.
No Man's
An offshore reef between two islands starts working in medium swells but can hold the big stuff.
Twin Pass
Located just south west of the small island of Kia off the the northern coast of Vanua Levu, is an incredible gem of a reef pass. 4 amazing waves, 2 lefts and 2 rights, 2 of which are genuinely world class. Facing north to north west and sitting about 8-10 miles off the mainland coast, the 2 adjacent passes are ideally situated to pick up strong WNW swells out of the north pacific from November thru early March, as well as the periodic cyclones brewing further west off the Phillipines. With the winds generally slack this time of year, blowing occasionally out of the east and north east, the conditions just couldn’t be much better. And of course the best part….Nobody around for miles.
The Great Surf Reef
A long remote reef divided by a tantalizing series of passes that offer much exploration potential.
* CLOUDBREAK & RESTAURANTS
WILL BE SURFED BY TUI TAI CHARTERS IF CONDITIONS ARE BETTER FOR SOUTH SWELL THAN NORTH SWELL.
