MAL PAIS - JUNGLE HOUSE
Located in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, the Jungle House has endless miles of beautiful white and grey sand beaches right outside the back yard. This is one surf destination you will never want to leave!
Accommodations are rooms in a two story, 3,400 square foot rustic style house, built to make you feel intertwined with the natural environment.
It is common to see many native species of animals through the windows and in the backyard of the house, including groups of Howler monkeys, iguanas, butterflies and a wide variety of birds.
The setting is great for either solo travelers or couples who would like to spend time alone or engage in activities with like-minded individuals. It's an ideal destination for couples where one or both want to learn to surf, or where one surfs and the other can participate in the many group activities offered without being bored or cooped up in a hotel room.
The owner is on site at all times. The house is located on the beach and the main surf break is just a short walk away plus there is a vehicle at the house with secured parking. The Jungle House has a yoga studio, a computer with wi-fi, A/C, swimming pool, BBQ, and new "rancho/bar" to relax in after a hard day of surfing!
A common daily ritual in Santa Teresa is gathering at the beach to watch the spectacular sunsets this region has to offer. Once the sun goes down, you can enjoy the activities offered at the Jungle House's rec room/game room, or stroll along the main road and discover the quaint bars and stores in Santa Teresa and Mal Pais. This is one surf vacation you will never forget.

THE SURF
Santa Teresa, considered to be a surfer's paradise, is arguably the most consistent and well formed beach break in all of Costa Rica. The topography of the coastline creates a unique wave set-up, whereby different areas of the beach offer vastly different surfing conditions. There are gentler breaking waves, perfect for beginner and intermediate level surfers.
For the advanced surfers, there are miles of ripable beach break peaks right outside the backyard making this one of the best surf destinations available. And there is a right point break, left point break and a reef break all within a 10 minute distance. When in the surf, a glance towards shore will reveal unspoiled views of natural beach scenery.

Non-surf activity options include: Canopy tours, horseback riding, ATV tours, offshore fishing, scuba diving/snorkeling, ultralight airplane tours, helicopter tours and for the nature lovers there are bat caves, bird watching, butterfly gardens, Cabo Blanco and Curu Wildlife Reserves and boat trips to Tortuga Island and Cabuya Island.
These activities/tours are not included in the Jungle House rental rates, but can be easily booked and enjoyed both affordably and conveniently for all guests of the Jungle House!!
TERMS & CONDITIONS
A 50% deposit is required to secure reservation, the remainder of the payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. If booking within 30 days, full payment is required at time of booking. All payments are non-refundable.
If cancelling 30 or more days prior to arrival, all payments can be applied to another booking within one year from the date the deposit was made. No refunds will be given due to late arrival or early departure from dates booked in advance. Exceptions to our policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies.
