K59 SURF TOURS
Surfing is the main daily activity.
K59 is located on the Pacific Coastal highway of El Salvador, 45 minutes from the Comalapa International Airport and 50 minutes from the capital of the country, San Salvador. The closest town to K59 is El Puerto de La Libertad which is only a short 25 minute drive.
K59 is a semi-private beach area with a very consistent rocky point directly in front of your accommodation.
There is also K61, another right point break up the beach that is even more open to swell and offers great waves with long rides and barrel sections to make the most of your surf vacation.
The area is surrounded by beautiful mountains and ancient forest, which makes for an enjoyable hike if you can stand the heat. The scenery along the coast is beautiful to look at and rich with surf potential.
Your host, a local surfer since 1984, Edgard Schleusz owns one of the houses at K59 and through him you will have access to this wonderful point. Combine that with a personal surf guide and use of Edgard's 4x4 and you can explore any other spots you care to surf as well.
The world famous Punta Roca, or La Libertad is a perfect right point break and arguably the best surf destination in the Western Hemisphere. Fast and hollow but can get very crowded especially on the weekend. Even if the swell isn't pumping it is definitely worth a look. Drop in and have a bite to eat at Punta Roca restaurant while you check out the perfect cobblestone point.
Other local spots include Conchalio, San Blas, La Bocana, Zunsal and Mizata. But when the surf is up and the only surfers in the water are you and your friends, no one in the bunch will want to surf anywhere else but K59.
Keep in mind that most of the surfers in El Salvador don't have access to much gear. Bro down with a few extra leashes, fins or an old board and you will have a friend for life.

THE SURF
El Salvador's 321 KM coastline has beach breaks, rivermouths, reefs and points. But it is the cobblestone points that will hold your full attention as you surf alone at many of the country's best points.
The coastline runs from East to West so most all of the surfing is during the South swell season. This season begins at the end of February and generally lasts until November.
It is normally very glassy or light offshore in the mornings. By mid day the wind is a sideshore and by the afternoon it is usually onshore though still very surfable.
Average waves will be in the 3-6' range, although there are many days of solid 6-10' surf. A couple times per year it will reach 10-15' but rarely does it get any bigger.
Most breaks are rights and the water temperature averages 80-85 degrees all year.

Thanks for the welcome home!We had a good trip. Surf was best the first two days. 2’-4’ SSW with an occasional set, water temp was 80+ degrees little to no wind until mid afternoon. Jimmy Rotherham picked us up and got us right into some fun surf. It was pretty much what we were looking for, nothing too big or gnarly. Just super fun! No one got hurt, although a few of us dealt with the CAT (Central American Tummy). The rest of the trip was a morning session with other entertainment (ruins, museum, Gift shopping, Siestas) every day. Surf dropped a bit on the weekend then stayed 2’-4’ and a little weaker the rest of the time. Thanks for the help in getting us out of the cold Cali waters! Blessings,Ross
More +Good times for sure! Place is killer and ceviche BOMB! Thanks for setting it up….Chris
More +We killed it at K59. What a awesome spot, people and waves. We had an awesome time on our 3rd annual Ryan’s Spring Break trip with 7 pals and caught some big waves! Thursday was double OH + and no locals would go out. We did and caught some very memorable waves, thanks to you. Take care. Thanks to all the guys for joining. Best Regards,Kurt
More +The trip was great; excellent waves, food and the villa staff took great care of us. We met very nice people at the surf camp and there were usually only several people in the line-up. My son and I felt very safe and we certainly would make the trip again. We lost the AC one night because a truck ran into the electric pole on the main road but a fan worked with the generator. Thank you for all your help.Emil T.
More +It was rad. It was like freakin ground hog day for surf. 19 sessions in 7 days. There was plenty to surf everyday. – Charlie P
More +We scored excellent conditions and the house is better than ever. Thanks for all your help, talk soon about the next one. Greg P.
More +The crew under Antonio (Checko, Rosario, etc) did an amazing job. Place was run well, super clean, food was insane. They even rescued some Floridian longboarders from the rocks. And we love the new palapa viewing deck by the pool! Mike M.
More +Everything was perfect from start to finish. Good waves, great service, decent weather, fantastic location and a good crew of guys. Really, really good. Hoping I can get a "hall pass" to go back sometime next year! Thanks again for the help and great service. Will definitely be in touch for my next trip. - Steve B.
More +SURFED OUT?
Fishing: Deep sea fishing can be arranged upon arrival by numerous quality operators in the region.
Diving: You must bring your own gear, but several of the offshore islands offer dives with incredible visibility and a large variety of marine life.
Country Club: If the surf goes flat you can visit the lake house, ride some jet skis, play a round of golf or a couple sets of tennis.
Nature Walks: It is a beautiful but rugged countryside, and getting around on foot can be difficult due to the volcanic rocks and thick vegetation. But a good hike will provide you with some epic panoramic ocean views.
