NIHIWATU RESORT
NIHIWATU RESORT

There are four world class reef breaks, the Lefthander is a short paddle from the beach. The fat right-handers across the bay from Nihiwatu and the "Sunset" style rights and lefts on the next point can be accessed by boat or an hour truck ride. There is also a right hand reef break at the end of the beach that breaks on small days, it's about a half hour walk.  A surf vacation at Nihiwatu is like no other surf package in the world.

Located in the Lesser Sunda Island chain in Southeast Indonesia, The remote island of Sumba picks up the same swells that hit the Mentawai islands. It's also one of the richest culturally, with very strong, ancient traditions. This surf destination is home to one of the world’s last intact Animist cultures.

WEATHER

The climate in Indonesia is mainly tropical–hot and humid all year round with plentiful rainfall. Southeast Asia has a wet and dry season caused by seasonal shift in winds or monsoon. The tropical rain belt causes additional rainfall during the monsoon season. The rain forest is the second largest on earth (with the Amazon being the largest).

An exception to this type of climate and vegetation is the mountain areas in the northern region, where high altitudes lead to milder temperatures and drier landscape. Other parts fall out of this climate because they are desert like.
