MEDICINE MAN

Samoa is largely free of diseases that represent any significant risk, though there are small chances of hepatitis or bacterial infection. No vaccinations are required for entry if coming from the U.S., but we highly recommend you discuss vaccinations with your doctor at least several weeks prior to departure. The Centers for Disease Control is a good source of general information on health risks in Samoa. www.cdc.gov/travel/austspac.htm or www.visitsamoa.ws/

There's first aid at the resort and a hospital in Apia, we recommend you bring your own basic stash of medications:

  • Bandages & Band Aids - Latex Band-Aids work great
  • Quality Cloth Medical Tape
  • Second Skin
  • Anti-Biotic Ointment
  • Anti-Fungal Powder
  • Sleeping Pills
  • Betadine
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Lomotil or other Anti-Diarrhea
  • Aspirin
  • Sun Block & Lip Block
  • Sunburn Lotion
