South Swell Season (March to October)

Winters lows in the Tasman Sea and around New Zealand as well as Antarctic lows generate strong clean groundswells, which sweep the Lau Lau Group. South East trade winds are directly offshore in the Lau Lau Group and predominate during winter, brushing these waves to perfection. All surf spots are near reef passes, so the waves are suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers.
