WEATHER

Basically two seasons, a rainy season and a dry season.  The rainy season runs approximately from April through October, with the dry season being roughly October through April.  Nicaragua tends to be dryer than Costa Rica, but could be compared to the northern region of Guanacaste. Nicaragua has two very large lakes, Lake Nicaragua, and Lake Managua.  The presence of these two large bodies of water is believed to help create the constant off shore wind on the Pacific coast.  This wind is present throughout the year and at times can be very strong.
