THE CLIMATE Costa Rica, at about 10 degrees north of the equator, is heavily influenced by its tropical location, though it can vary throughout the country. There are 2 primary seasons: dry, from Nov/Dec to April, and wet, from May to Oct/Nov. Air temps, depending on where you are, can get in the low 90s, while most temps range between 70-80 degrees. Water temps range from low 70s to higher. San Jose, the capital city located in the mountains, can get cold at night, so plan on bringing a few warm clothes if a stopover is on your itinerary. |
